The 'Renew' marker stands out from its counterparts through its unique refill system. Unlike traditional markers that require ink to be injected from the tip, 'Renew' allows users to unscrew the marker, remove the spent refill, and replace it with a new one. This design not only enhances efficiency but also reduces the risk of ink overflow, a common issue with traditional refill methods. The marker's cap, distinguished by its unique shape, indicates the thickness of the pen tip, further enhancing the user experience.
Constructed with a plastic body, a rubber middle, and a fiber tip, the 'Renew' marker is designed for durability and comfort. Its dimensions, 160mm in width, 15mm in depth, and 15mm in height, make it a compact and portable tool for artists on the go. The marker is tagged with keywords such as 'quick change', 'marker', 'refill', and 'twist', highlighting its unique features.
The design team, consisting of Zhen Zhang, Yanan Sun, Yunsong Liu, and Xiaofan Zhou, worked tirelessly to bring this innovative concept to life. The project, which began in October 2021 in Beijing, was completed in November of the same year, following intensive research and development.
The 'Renew' marker's design process was not without challenges. The team had to devise a way to quickly change the refill without causing ink overflow. They achieved this by designing the pen holder to be detachable and the opening mode to be twisted. Additionally, they designed grooves around the pen tip to ensure smooth lines and full contact with the paper surface.
The 'Renew' marker is more than just a tool; it's a testament to the power of design and innovation. It was awarded Silver in the A' Art and Stationery Supplies Design Award in 2022, a prestigious accolade that recognizes top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs. This award is a testament to the team's outstanding expertise, innovation, and commitment to excellence.
